How to achieve optimal clinical images

Vicki Adams (Senior Medical Photography – Mater Misericordiae Limited) will draw on her 30 years experience as a professional medical photographer to provide useful tips and tricks for health care professionals capturing clinical photographs for patient care and medical records. Aspects of clinical photography to be covered in this presentation include: preparation, exposure, distortion, focus, screen assessment, orientation, identification, editing,  file storage and mobile phone capture.


Biography:

Vicki has been providing high quality medical and clinical photographs to health care professionals for over 28 years. Mater clinicians recognize her as a professional photographer whom provides detailed, high quality photographs used for diagnostic purposes, extensive disease documentation and documentary evidence for legal cases.

Her photographic peers also recognize Vicki as an expert medical photographer, awarding her a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Medical & Biological Illustration (AIMBI) in 2009. She is also a recognized practicing professional member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographer (AIPP) and has been a member of the Australian Professional Photographer’s Awards judging panel for eight years, judging the category of Science, Environmental & Nature. Vicki has convened two National Conferences and co-convened one International Conference for the Medical & Scientific photography communities.

Vicki’s philosophy for her clinical photographs is to capture photographs with honesty, compassion and humility for all health care providers, working in collaboration with them to provide the highest standard of care to their patients.
